Josh is a second generation general contractor born and raised in Pacific Grove. He would help his dad, Hugh, a well known local contractor, on the jobsite from the age of 12. Josh knew even then then that building was his passion. At 18, Josh moved to Kona, Hawaii to build spec homes from the ground up with Hugh Rutt Construction.

Josh returned to the Monterey Peninsula after several years of building in Hawaii, working for some of the most highly sought after construction companies on the peninsula as a carpenter and lead builder. Josh earned his contractor’s license and founded JR Construction with the dream of providing quality, personalized contracting services to his neighbors.

Hugh has built hundreds of homes on the Monterey Peninsula in a career spanning nearly 45 years as a general contractor. His most memorable projects include ground up builds in the beach tract neighborhood in Pacific Grove overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a series of spec homes in Kona, Hawaii. As a local homeowner, Hugh brings a variety of invaluable experience to every project.

Lily is a local educator with a passion for project management, building client relationships, and home design. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York and holds a Masters Degree in Education from California State University, Monterey Bay.
